That surely will keep us busy for a while! CD Projket RED recently talked about the upcoming expansions that will be combined as big as The Witcher 2, setting a new standard for additional content generosity.
Gaming studios would usually release a few DLCs that add few hours to the main game, but CD Projekt RED wanted to go back to the old way of delivering contents which is Expansions that add new areas and stories. Even though The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the biggest games out there yet there’s still a lot more from where that came.
“The first expansion will be around 10 hours and the second expansion will be around 20 hours… and I think it’s possible that they will be bigger,” he said.
“It’s always like this (that when we plan some time or hours, it’s twice or something like this), but I’m not promising anything right now. And even now, if you sum up this 10 to 20 hours and you compare it to The Witcher 2, it’s almost the size of The Witcher 2. And it will be cool, it will be new stories, it will be very emotional stories and I think that people will be happy.”
First expansion titled Heart of Stone is releasing later this year while the second one, Blood and Wine will be live in 2016. You can buy the Expansion Pack for your copy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC, PS4 and Xbox One for $30.
