PUBG passes huge milestone, devs apologize to fans for recent issues

Despite being still in development, only on one platform digitally, and has many issues of its own, PUBG still managed to achieve what most of 2017 games failed to do and becoming the biggest indie success story yet.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has recently surpassed 20 million copies sold, Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene revealed yesterday. The impressive sales numbers are very impressive, but with them comes a huge responsibility.

Greene directed a message to players who may be frustrated or upset with the current state of the game, with developer PUBG Corp recently having to postpone the highly-anticipated vaulting and climbing update due to an unknown issue.

“I know a lot of you are frustrated by issues w/ the game but the team is working hard to deliver a truly great Battle Royale expierence for everyone,” Greene said. “Bear with us, change is coming!”

The developer also issued an apology to its community about the numbers of cheaters and hackers in the game, and has pledged to take control of the situation very soon.

PUBG’s success will only become bigger with the planned Xbox One release on Dec. 12, marking the first time the game will be playable on console. The development is supposed to end later this year for PC and a PS4 version is being considered for no less than next year.
