Piracy group 3DM recently announced that it will not crack any single-player games for the next year. Could this be the win of tough-as-nails encryption DRM Denuvo?
“We just had an internal meeting. Starting at the Chinese New Year, 3DM will not crack any single-player games,” said forum member and team leader Bird Sister.
“We’ll take a look at the situation in a year’s time to see if genuine sales have grown.”
3DM said last month that the Denuvo copy protection found in Just Cause 3 was too tough to crack and it expects that with current advancements there will be no cracked games on the market within a couple of years.
“According to current trends in the development of encryption technology, in two years time I’m afraid there will be no free games to play in the world,” said Bird Sister in January.
