It’s relatively easy to take our healthy bodies for granted when we play against random strangers online. We tend to ignore the fact that not all of us were born with same body functions, and almost instantly begin bashing other players for showing lack of communications or skill.
Take this CS: GO player for example. Adam “Loop” Bahriz from Algeria is one fan of the game who wasn’t as fortunate as one of us, being born with a rare medical condition called “Herediatry Sensory & Autonomic Neuropathy TypeII” or HSAN2 for short. This makes Adam’s life full of difficulties most notably being impaired visually and audibly (Legally blind and deaf). This didn’t stop him from ever enjoying the game, but bullies did.
Before Adam’s day became the best of his life when streaming yesterday, It was some toxic players during an ESEA match who made him feel miserable by constantly harassing him and vote-kicking him eventually, despite him being “Rank B” and a Legendary Eagle rank and previously Global Elite, the highest you can get in the game.
After mentioning Adam’s situation on Reddit the CS: GO community was fast to move showing love and support for the player, proving that a lot of them aren’t as bad as some would think. Thanks to shoutouts by famous players like Cloud9 and Echo Fox players the stream skyrocketed from 10 viewers to 3000 at one point, and donations reached $5000 in that one day with big contributions by Mohamad “m0e” Assad and Johannes “TabseN” Wodarz with $750 and $500 respectively.
“Loop”s story is now in the front page of “r/GlobalOffensive” and it gained attention of many big names like “FalleN”, “Zeus” and “GeT_RiGhT” cheering for Adam and supporting him.
“I can’t believe it … I’ll never forget this day” said Adam. “this is literally the best day of my life”
