After a period of radar silence, Epic Games has finally came back to the world of video games by revealing several news about their multiplayer game ‘Fortnite’ , as well as a Virtual Reality game called ‘Couch Knights’.
But the news don’t end there, Tim Sweeney -the studio’s co-founder- has teased another “next-gen” game that will “push next gen graphics”.
Speaking with gaming website Edge, Sweeney said that the game “is going to push next gen graphics as you’d always expect Epic to do.
” “There’s alot of Unreal Engine 4 games on the way and a large number of them haven’t been announced,” he went on.”You’ll see lots of triple-A stuff coming out over time.” As for these games are: Sweeney suggested that they may not be the triple-A experiences we expect them to be, saying: “The industry’s changing. This generation it seems like there are about a third of the number of triple-A titles in development across the industry as there was last time around – and each one seems to have about three times the budget of the previous generation.I think we’re heading towards a future where triple-A is the minority.”
What’s this big new Epic game ? People suggest that it’ll be a game based on the company’s Infiltrator and Samaritan tech demos, as suggested by a batch of GDC presentation slides.
Stay tuned for more.
