FACEIT Major: London 2018 events come to an end with Astralis as the major champion

The Danish team Astralis is on the top of the world stage again, as it manages to win the FACEIT Major: London 2018 proving to be the undisputed champion of the world

After three weeks of competition for more than 20 international teams, the champions of Europe were able to achieve their great victory by beating several big names such as FaZe Clan, Team Liquid and finally Natus Vincere, which represented the final obstacle to the team in a strong final match that came to remind us that Astralis is a power not to be reckoned with in the world of the game.

The Major championship grand final lasted only two maps, Nuke and Overpass, where Astralis managed to end the battle without having to resort to the third map Inferno. Meanwhile, Na’Vi started a strong competition with a round of pistols with Egor “flamie” Vasilyev and then progressing with three rounds, but the Danes needed only little money to be able to buy their favorite weapons and start a sweeping storm with nine consecutive rounds.

Although they won the second round of pistols in the second half, Denis’s “electronic” Sharipov and his friends did not have enough power to stop the resurgent Astralis, once their economy returned to normal again.

The second map Overpass carried a similar result but in a different way. The victory in the first rounds this time was for Astralis after a successful pistols round, but Na’Vi managed to rise and achieve six rounds with a total score for the first half of 9-6. Do you want to see the full performance of the Danish team? Just give them T side and watch their overwhelming attack which left no chance for Na’Vi to respond, with a series of successful rounds to score a final 16-9 to finish the final quickly and to be the third match that Astralis wins without the need of a third map to determined outcome.

The $500,000 prize and the best team title in the world now belongs to Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz and his teammates. This is the second win in the biggest CS tournament, the Major, for the team after ELEAGUE Atlanta win last year. Not only that, it is the fifth overall win this year to make this squad one of the best in CS: GO history, with the biggest number of finals wins in just two rounds.

Congratulations to the Red Team and hardluck for the Ukrainian Na’Vi who won our hearts , we can’t wait to see what they can do in the upcoming tournaments if they continue this remarkable performance!
