The famous Japanese game developer known for Metal Gear games has been touring the world lately visiting game studios, and we now know why. Hideo Kojima said yesterday that it was for finding a game engine for his new game, which will appeal to players of The Division and Uncharted 4 according to his description.
The tour focused mainly on engines and other tech, as the Kojima Productions’ head decided to work with a third party engine instead of creating his own because of the short time he has.
“I think it’s better to use internal tools to make games,” he told attendees at the Nordic Game event in Malmo, as reported by Gamespot. “But for my first title we are going to use a third-party engine because we want to release it to the people who are waiting. The reason why I’m travelling around the world is because I am looking for [an engine] to use.”
