It looks like the moment that no Mousesports fan wished for is here at last, with two of the best players having to leave the active CS: GO lineup that have won many tournaments the past few years
The German team announced yesterday that Martin “STYKO” Styk, the most popular player in the squad without a doubt, will leave the main team with Chris “chrisJ” de Jong and coach Sergey “lmbt” Bezhanov, leaving behind Tomas “oskar” Stastny, Robin “ropz “Kool and Miikka” suNny “Kemppi in the current squad.
“Parting ways after one and a half years and 19 offline tournaments is not easy but sometimes a few steps back can be multiple steps forward,” Miikka “suNny” Kemppi said in the team’s announcement. “There are no hard feelings or any bad blood inside the team, we just drove ourselves into a situation we couldn’t get out of and something had to change. It was the most successful run for all of us and I hope that this will change the careers of all of us for the better… Looking forward to a new and fresh chapter now, where we can be consistent contenders for titles again.”
When @STYKOcsgo joined the team back in 2017, he ignited immediate success, with championship campaigns in Mykonos, Budapest and Kiev. When the team needed him the most, he stepped up and carried the weight on his shoulders, which we couldn’t be more thankful for. pic.twitter.com/khurgPU1N8

The decision to abandon the five-year-old captain, ChrisJ, and the stellar STYKO came afterafter disappoi performance in the IEM Katowice European Minor event where the team was knocked out of group stage after a painful double loss to Valiance. In fact, we have not seen Mousesports achieve any significant achievements since winning ESL One New York in September last year.
The new players will be unveiled in the next few weeks as the next transfer season is expected to show up after the Katowice Major Championships in March.
