If you’re a PS4 owner and have heard about the new, upcoming more powerful PS4 console and that you now have to buy one, Yoshida got some words for you.
Sony Interactive Entertainment’s president of worldwide studios Shuhei Yoshida claimed the “new high-end PS4 is still PS4, so the life cycle is not going to be shorter.” This means that both of the PS4 models can co-exist and neither will have exclusive games, as all PS4 titles will work without a trouble on both with the only difference being support for higher graphics on NEO which is probably a lot more expensive.
Yoshida also claims to have been pleasantly surprised at Microsoft’s Project Scorpio announcement. “I was not expecting them to talk about [Project Scorpio,]” he continued. “It’s very very super interesting what they are doing.” Sony didn’t want to show the NEO at E3 yet because the focus was on Games first, with the announcement to come in the following months ahead of the rumored release date this November.
