We definitely didn’t see that coming… looks like the publisher for Batman: Arkham Knight knew about the problems of the PC version all along months before release even, according to reports.
The PC version is a buggy, unplayable mess since launch. And is now considered one of the worst launches of games on PC for a lot of people. Even though Warner Bros. was forced to pull the game from digital and retail stores but some leaks and reports suggest that they kinda knew it was coming and thought it would be fine.
According to the reports from reliable sources, the development for PS4 and Xbox One was “not nearly as easy to work with as [Rocksteady] expected,” which made the company decide to put all of the QA testers to the console versions leaving the PC one out cold. Not just that, but the company also refused to hire any external firms to handle the testing in fear of the game’s plot being leaked.
PC version was developed by Iron Galaxy’s twelve-men team shortly before release. The reports claim that Warner Bros. knew that the PC version was going to have some trouble yet they thought it was good enough.
No need for us to say that this didn’t go quite as planned. WB lost a huge sum of respect and money due to Steam’s new refund policy and pulling the game off-shelves from all the major retailers.
Batman: Arkham Knight is now available on PS4 and Xbox One. PC version will be released again when all of the problems are solved.
